Our 2016 TALEA Conference (in Oak Ridge, Tennessee) plans are under way!  We are excited to announce the list of guest speakers we currently have lined-up:

Dr. Rachel Boba Santos  – Author of “Crime Analysis with Crime Mapping & Associate Professor, Area of Specialization: Crime reduction and prevention for police, stratified policing, crime analysis, environmental criminology, police leadership and accountability, problem-oriented policing, crime mapping, regional data and crime analysis systems, victimology, research methods, program evaluation. 

Dr. Roberto Santos –  Roberto Santos has served with the Port St. Lucie (Florida) Police Department since 1994. Currently, he is commander of the Professional Standards Division which includes the Internal Affairs Section, the Training and Recruiting Section, and the Crime and Intelligence Analysis Unit, as well as accreditation and the department’s systematic accountability process.  Lt. Santos holds a Ph.D. in criminal justice with a concentration in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University

Dr. Noah Fritz  – Dr. Noah Fritz is the Strategic Planning, Analysis and Research Center (SPARC) Supervisor at the Tempe Police Department and the past Crime Analysis Manager at the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Noah returned to the “field” of crime analysis after spending five years as an Assistant Professor in the Criminal Justice & Criminology Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. His primary area of research is Crime Mapping, Crime Analysis and Geographic Information Systems.  He is the current President of the International Association of Crime Analysts.

Cynthia Storer – Cynthia Storer, formerly a Senior Analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency, was among the “sisterhood” of analysts who first identified and warned about al-Qa’ida in the mid-1990s. Her pioneering work served as the foundation for the efforts of the analysts and targeting officers who eventually found Bin Ladin’s hideout, as depicted in the movie Zero Dark Thirty. Cindy was featured, and talks about this part of her career, in the Emmy Award-winning HBO documentary Manhunt.
