David Gordon has over 13 years of experience in Crime and Intelligence Analysis as an Analyst with the Oak Ridge Police Dept., Erie Crime Analysis Center (ECAC) in Buffalo, NY, and the US Army. David has a BA in Political Science from the University at Buffalo (SUNY).
In his current position, he created and runs the Crime Analysis Section for ORPD (Oak Ridge Police. At the ECAC he worked with the Homicide Unit, Sex Offense Unit, Accident Investigation Unit, Organized Retail Theft, FBI, ICE, and local police units focusing on violent offenders, Most Wanted Criminals, finding missing persons, and pioneered the use of social media for investigative all-source analysis. David is a NY State Certified Crime Analyst and has over 4 years of experience as a federally sworn officer for the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
In the US Army he earned the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in combat by providing critical intelligence analysis, asset prioritization and targeting, and liaison efforts with national level agencies. He has attended numerous crime and intelligence analysis training courses and has been a long time member of the IACA. He has taught crime analysis presentations at Roane State Community College, Neighborhood Watch Groups, Citizens Police Academy, and the Oak Ridge Landlords Association. David is a proponent of Intelligence-Led Policing and a fan of Dr. Jerry Ratcliffe. He enjoys keeping up with current and world events, trend analysis, hiking, and traveling in his Jeep.
